Buyer’s Terms & Conditions (Summary)

  • A bidding deposit of €1,000 must be paid by bank draft, credit or debit/ laser card. You will be asked to complete a form giving your name and address plus contact number. If you pay by cash, the refund will be made by cheque only. Also those paying by cash must produce 2 forms of ID (Passport/Driving Licence and Utility Bill) The deposit will be refunded if you do not purchase at auction. Always keep your deposit receipt safe as No Receipt/No Refund.
  • Immediately a purchase is made the deposit is credited to the buyers account.
  • The company and or auctioneer have the right to increase the deposit required from any bidder or to refuse to issue a bidding number.
  • The company also reserves the right of admission to the auction.
  • All items sold at auction are plus auctioneers fees of 7.50% on items under € 2,500 and 5% on items over € 2,500. These fees are subject to VAT at 23%
  • All items purchased at auction must be paid for and collected within 5 working days of the auction. After 5 days storage charges will accrue and the deposit will be forfeited.
  • Clients paying by cheque must allow 5 working days for their cheque to clear the banking system before collection can be made. It is therefore advisable to make payment by Bank Draft or by Bank Transfer. For those paying by all types of credit card there is a 2.50% bank charge on each transaction.The bank charge does not apply to credit card deposits.
  • All items sold at auction are sold as seen with all defects and faults.
  • If an item is sold Provisionally at auction this means that it has not reached the reserve price and the auctioneer must negotiate between the seller and buyer after the auction. The deposit is held pending the outcome of the negotiations. A sale concluded under these terms is known as a Private Treaty Sale.
  • All bidders should note that the Auctioneers decision is final and title passes to the purchaser on the fall of the hammer.
  • Bidders who propose getting finance for their purchase are advised to have had initial approval from the finance company, as failure to secure such finance cannot be accepted as a basis for the cancellation of the sale. The cancelled sale in such a case will mean that the deposit is forfeited.
  • All purchasers of items at auction will be asked to produce photo ID and proof of address at time of payment or before items are released from our auction yard.
  • Buyers from outside the Republic of Ireland must produce the following before their purchases are zero rated for VAT:
  1. Purchase order for the auction items faxed to the Ganly Craigie (2000) Ltd showing full details of the company.
  2. Copy of VAT registration certificate
  3. Photo ID for the agent acting on behalf of the company ( Passport or Driving Licence)
  4. Upon collection of the goods the driver will also be asked to produce photo ID and sign the Revenue Export declaration.

  • Whilst every care is taken in the production of the catalogue and web site, neither the Auctioneer or the Vendor will accept for any responsibility for any inaccuracies contained therein.
  • All bidders should note that a successful bid indicates acceptance of and compliance with the Terms and Conditions of Ganly Craigie (2000) Limited, This does not effect your statutory rights.
