Hassle Free Steps to Selling at Auction

There is an auction entry fee of €50 (inc.VAT) for each item entered into the auction. This will ensure the details of your item for auction will appear on our website and in the auction catalogue.

Ideally the earlier you have the item into our auction yard the better, as it can then be viewed by more potential buyers.

You will be asked to complete an entry form on the arrival of your items at our auction yard. You can download this form from our web site or complete the form in our office.

You will set the reserve price on the item you wish to sell at auction, and we can advise you on this if required. This price will be the minimum price that you will instruct the auctioneer to sell the item for. Remember that the Hammer Price that the auctioneer sells at, will be plus VAT (Value Added Tax at 23% less the auctioneer’s fees, and these fees will be subject to VAT also at 23%) See sellers guide to the final amount that you will receive if the item is sold.

If you as the seller are not registered for VAT (Value Added Tax) you will be paid only the Hammer Price less our Auction Fees and VAT on those fees.

If you have any Registration Documents, Log Books or Certificates with the item, these should be given to us when you make the delivery to our yard.

If your item does not reach the reserve price on the auction day, the auctioneer may sell provisionally and you will be contacted by our sales staff and advised of the position. You are not obliged to sell your item at the provisional price.

Following the sale you will be advised in writing that your item has been sold and if you are VAT registered you will be asked to provide a VAT invoice to Ganly Craigie (2000) Limited showing the Hammer Price plus VAT at 23%.

If you are not registered for VAT you will be asked to provide 2 forms of Identification, one of which must be a utility bill. All payments are made by cheque or by bank transfer and payment will be made as soon as we receive funds from the buyer. Your auction items will always remain in our yard and will not be released until the buyers funds have been received and have cleared the banking system.

Ganly Craigie (2000) Limited  will charge an auctioneers fee on each item sold at our auction or subsequently after auction as follows:

Items sold for €5 to €2,500 Hammer Price Fees 7.5% plus VAT at 23%

Items sold for over €2,500 Hammer Price Fees 5% plus VAT at 23%

These fees including the value added tax will be deducted from your cheque when payment is made.
